You heard it, and you may even want to try it. The problem is you are also scared. Are CBD capsules for real and beneficial to your health? Are they cannabis and illegal?

You could be avoiding something that can improve your health and well-being by not knowing the truth from the disparages of cannabidiol (CBD).

CBD Is Weed.

The claim is false, although it is understandable why people confuse CBD with cannabis or marijuana.

The compounds are both cannabinoids, and their molecular structures are eerily similar. These substances bind themselves to the endocannabinoid receptors of the body. In turn, you experience their supposed health benefits.

The difference lies in their primary sources and effects. You get weed from a marijuana plant while CBD extracts are from the hemp. It is the same material used for making textiles or paper.

Cannabis contains a significant amount of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). It is a substance that has psychoactive properties. In other words, it gets you high.

CBD, meanwhile, has no more than 0.3% of THC. It also does not bind with almost all endocannabinoid receptors in the body.

All CBD Products Are Equal

Just because they sound the same does not mean all CBD products are equal. They come in different kinds:

Manufacturers create full-spectrum and broad-spectrum CBD almost in the same manner except for one. The latter does not contain THC. It is less likely to deliver “the buzz” you desire. Note, though, that even if full-spectrum CBD contains THC, it should still be less than 0.3%.

Both possess flavonoids and terpenes, which add flavor or taste to the CBD. Isolate, meanwhile, is different from the two.

It is the purest form of CBD since it does not have any other compounds besides cannabidiol. It is usually available in a powder-like composition.

While it lacks other compounds, CBD isolates may be more natural to consume for beginners. The dosage is more accurate and suitable for every user’s needs.

Because it is more powdery, you can take it as CBD capsules. Some may find it easier to ingest than tinctures or oils.

CBD Is Illegal

The legality of CBD has many caveats. According to the Farm Bill, CBD is legal if it comes from 100% hemp, and THC should not be more than 0.3%.

If the product’s source is marijuana, then it is illegal. The law only makes hemp production legal. Marijuana is still a controlled substance.

It is a different matter under the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This agency regulates anything marketed as drugs and supplements. Based on its decisions and statements, CBD remains a drug that should undergo testing.

State laws can also affect the legality of CBD. Some may allow you to consume it even if you do not have medical conditions. Others may ask you to get a prescription. Fortunately, only a few states prohibit you from buying any CBD product.

When in doubt, research your state laws. You can also ask the manufacturer or retailer for more information.

Consuming CBD products means to weigh both the pros and cons. You also need to determine the best type of CBD for your needs and what your state allows.

Either way, clearing the air and separating fact from fiction will help you decide more effectively. You can be more proactive toward improving your health.
