It’s not unusual to feel pain in your body. What is important to monitor is the severity of the pain because that ultimately determines the actions you should take to relieve the discomfort.

How do you know when it’s time to ditch the home remedies or over-the-counter meds and start seriously considering chiropractic care? If you’re unsure, we list a few tell-tale signs that suggest it’s time to place your pain in the hands of professionals.
While occasional headaches aren’t uncommon because of stress or heat, sometimes migraines are caused by life-threatening illnesses.
Headaches are classified as primary or secondary depending on the cause. Primary headaches are usually triggered by lifestyle factors such as skipping meals, dehydration, poor sleep or substance abuse. Secondary headaches are a result of underlying medical conditions such as a brain tumor or concussion.
While the following list isn’t exhaustive, it’s wise to visit a chiropractor if your headache:
- Is very severe
- Comes abruptly and is very intense
- Causes you to experience confusion, vision impairments or speech difficulties

Chronic Muscle and Joints Pain
