How does Work?

Care of Baby under Radiant Warmer

  1.   The following hourly monitoring procedures are needed when a baby is receiving radiant warmer therapy. The room temperature must be 22 oC.
  2.   To clean the mattress and platform, remove the linen sheet and wash it in the washing machine. Replace the sheet on the platform and the mattress.
  3.   Before transferring a baby from the delivery room to the intensive care warmer, turn it on at least fifteen minutes beforehand so that the linen and mattress are already warm when you place the baby on them.
  4.   After receiving the newborn from the radiant warmer, quickly attach the skin probe as follows:
  • Place the probe on the right hypochondriac region if the baby is in a supine position.
  • To obtain an accurate measurement, place the probe on the loin area.


  • If the temperature in the infant incubator falls below the preset level, the heater will increase its output. If the infant’s temperature is at a set temperature or higher, it will stop heating.
  • Check for proper probe placement every hour while the baby is in servo mode. In probe displacement, the probe is displaced from its normal position in a cavity.
  •  Please adjust your heater output according to the neonate’s temperature (servo mode).

Temperature Regulation

Use maximum temperature for rapid warming of the bassinet. Decrease output to 25 to 75% after 10 minutes, depending on ambient temperature.

The heater output is greater than 80%, and the appliance activates its over-temperature alarm within 15 to 20 min and maintains the heater output at 40%.

The heating unit was silenced for another 15 to 20 minutes as per the manufacturer’s recommendation.   And do not use 100% full heater output when unsupervised.
